David Benaym

Senior reporter and Middle East correspondent for TF1 and LCI.

Trained at ESJ and American University, David Benaym has been a correspondent in Paris, Washington, Brussels, New York and Tel Aviv. He covered the Clinton-Lewinsky affair, the Columbine High School shooting, the Pulse nightclub attack in Orlando and seven US presidential campaigns, from George W. Bush to Donald Trump.

Nominated at the 2017 International Emmy Awards, News category, for i24NEWS's coverage of the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, he has covered the war in Israel, Gaza and Iran since October 7, 2023.

A producer of films, series and documentaries, he co-founded movmnt magazine in New York (2006 to 2013). Captif, souviens-toi de ton futur is his first book in French. He is co-founder of the publishing house Écrin Éditions.

In 2016 he covered the US presidential election for i24NEWS. The following year, he earned i24NEWS its very first International Emmy Awards nomination, in the News category. Since October 7, 2023 he has been the TF1 and LCI correspondent in Tel Aviv. He co-wrote a piece in Le Point on the rise of antisemitism after October 7, the « été de cristal » lived by Jews, and wrote in Le Figaro about the pro-Palestinian shift of Grok, Elon Musk's AI.

As producer of the documentary series We Were Never Lost, about Africa's Jewish communities, he went to film Nigeria's Igbo Jewish community in July 2021 with Rudy Rochman and Noam Leibman. The three men were arrested, taken to Abuja and held in a cage by the Nigerian secret services for nearly three weeks, without charges or a lawyer. They were released on July 28, 2021 after the Israeli, French and US embassies intervened. He told the story in Captif, souviens-toi de ton futur (Écrin Éditions, 2026), a 344-page first-person account.

In dance, he published Moving Still, a life performance, with choreographer Lauren Adams and photographer Roger Moenks, featuring dancers such as Danny Tidwell and Travis Wall, then co-founded movmnt with Danny Tidwell, serving as publisher and editor in chief.
